a special weekend ... scrapatit!

>> Thursday, October 4, 2012

A Special Weekend, Scrapatit One is here!  Sorry for the delay.  I had to cancel my scheduled post near the last minute to correct an error I made and then got sidetracked in the kitchen making dinner!  LOL!  And those that have followed me for years know how detailed my eyeballs are!  *sigh*

Below is a preview of the little add-on I will have posted for you this Friday, October 5th.  I am going to proof it again later this morning and, hopefully, catch any of my little boo-boos before scheduling it to go live Friday afternoon!  *smile*

You might find a few extra goodies not seen in the preview when you download on Friday!  All word art is in a separate PNG file for your own customized placement.  You will also find my usual two files of each, one being regular print and the other a rub-on.  The two journal cards used in the Frame Cluster are also included in separate files, as is the Multi Grunge Print!  For anyone new to digital scrapbooking, you can use any of the papers from the blog train and your download on Friday to clip onto the word art for a cohesive look on your layouts or hybrid projects.  Have fun and experiment with new techniques!

If you have any questions or comments, please post them below and I will answer them as quickly as I am able to.  Generally, you will hear back from me within a 24-hour time period.  Y'all know how that little thing called life sometimes gets in the way, right?  You, of course, can always email me directly at bonscrapatitdesigns (at) gmail (dot) com, if you prefer to communicate privately.

Do y'all ever come back to see my reply to the comments you leave?  Thank you Valinda!  I saw your reply to my reply come in earlier today!  Disqus sends through emails at least once per day, which helps tremendously in my keeping up with you.  While I try my very best to reply to your comments right away, sometimes it may be a day to a day-and-a-half before I am able to get each one posted, but I do reply to each and every one of you that stop in!

Also, just a reminder that I've switched up my social media buttons hoping to have made them easier for y'all to use when reading and/or downloading.  Don't be shy!  Every time you share, it helps to give me more exposure.  *big smile*  I thank you in advance for helping me to get the word out, especially since I don't have my business page complete on Facebook yet and I am working my way back to Scrapland on a more regular basis!  *happy dance*

I just wish you all to know how much I truly appreciate you and your continual support.  It means the world to me!  Y'all inspire me you know!

Here is your download for Wednesday in the wee hours of Thursday morning!

(double-click on the gray box!)

Have an amazing day everyone.  Get your scrap on and I hope to see you Friday!

Product used:  3X4 Journal Card, Doodled Arrow RubOn, Floral Cluster
and Glittered Butterfly Scatter from *Spring Sun and Easter Fun Add-on*
by Bon Scrapatit Designs

Hello my sweet Scrapland friends!  Hope this posting finds y'all happy, healthy and full of scrap!

I've truly not meant to be away for so long, however, the past two years have found me doing just that more often than not.  This post shall be short and sweet and, by way of future posts, I shall share with you my current plans for Bon Scrapatit Designs and a little bit about what is behind my not being able to spend quality, productive time on the computer!

No novel.  Just a fairly quick synopsis of my life this side of the screen and how it is changing for the better after an aha moment as to what the real root issue was that kept me in a daze (I suppose confused could go right along with that, eh?  He ... he ...), unable to focus, far too easily distracted (even though I've had plenty to keep me from what I love doing the most) and not even having the desire to sit here for days/weeks at a time.  OMGosh!  Is this me I am talking about?  Yup.  It sadly is, but no more of that.  Uh, uh.  Nope.  No way Jose!  (Sorry Jose, nothing personal I promise *smile*) This girl is not only on her way to vibrant health, she is on her way back to Scrapland in a way she has only dreamed of for nearly two years.  Woot, woot ... yeah!  *big grin*

Oh, how I have missed y'all and anything scrapbook related!

Question.  Do you still have some Easter/Spring scrapping to do?  Please let me not be the only one.  Pretty please!

I am sharing with you today a scrapatit (Bon Scrapatit Design's version of a quick page, pronounced scrap-uh-teet) from a layout I made using a couple of photos that my daughter, Joan, emailed to me the week following Easter.  Of course, my heart skipped the usual few beats when oogling my precious, adorable granddaughter, Katelyn Rose, who is now 21-months-old!

Hasn't Kate grown?  She is as busy as a bee can be and I miss and love her so.  Scrapping this layout was not only good therapy to cure my scrapping/designing deprivation, but good for my Grandmotherly soul!

No novel Linda!  Oh, but there is simply so much news to share!  *biting tongue*

 Layout created by:  Linda Walton
Product used:  Paper, Embellishments and Word Art from
*Spring Sun and Easter Fun* by Bon Scrapatit Designs
(from the March 2012 Blog Train)

I am including a couple of photo placement guides to make it easier to properly align your photos in this scrapatit.  The two openings are a little tricky since they are not flush to the background from being shadowed and it might take some tweaking to get them layered properly and such, so this little afterthought got me a little excited about saving y'all some time!

The templates are proportioned precisely and I hope you find the instructions simple to follow.  They will, naturally, be covered up once you clip your photos to them!  *tada*

For those of you who might be downloading and using this scrapatit right away, I would so love your feedback as to whether you find the photo placement guides useful.  While most of you visiting me are seasoned scrappers, I know there are always new digiscrappers popping in who would welcome any timesavers.  Come to think of it, I am a fairly seasoned scrapper and I still enjoy timesavers!  *big grin*

For those who might not have already downloaded my blog train portion of *Spring Sun and Easter Fun*, you can click the image on the sidebar, or grab it here.

Make sure to come back tomorrow for the add-on.  If you download the scrapatit, you will find a preview of the add-on included!  It feels good to be even a wee bit ahead of myself for a change!  Knocking on wood.  Both this post and the one for tomorrow with the add-on are being scheduled ahead of time so that I can hunker down and prepare for the departure of the May Blog Train on Tuesday, May 1st!  Yes, yes, yes ... it is time to climb on board and find yourself some scrapping goodness from nearly 80 designers once again!  It is my hope that you be royally pleased!

Wishing each of you an incredibly beautiful week ahead.  May it be a most scrap-happy one at that and I am looking forward to spending more time with y'all and helping you to preserve your most precious and priceless memories!  Uhm ... you know, that part of my logo/branding that tells you I'll be giving you a taste of the scrapping life!  *wink, wink, wink*

Toot, toot!  You might be arriving from ...

This month's blog train, once again, has an open theme.  You will find a sweet variety of scrapping goodness awaiting you with well over 100 hundred designers participating this trip!  I just love seeing the variety of interpretations from the same color palette!  Makes me smile.  Really big.

If you read my post from yesterday evening, you will have already seen a sneak-peek of my theme and contribution!  My baby girl (oldest daughter, April) is having a *Bundle of Baby Boy Joy*!  Little Henry Richard is due to make his debut into the world January 21, 2012 and things are getting very exciting for both the first-time parents-to-be and the rest of the family!  *squee*

the august blog train has arrived! get "a fresh start" to your day, week and month of scrapping ...

>> Monday, August 1, 2011

Happy Monday, happy first day of August and all aboard y'all!

You might be arriving here at Bon Scrapatit Designs, #99 by way of  Keep In Touch Designs who is #98 on this month's "open themed" blog train!  Yes, you read correctly.  It was a free for all for the first time to my knowledge and a total of 100 designers have all taken one palette to create their digitally delicious goodies for your downloading pleasure!  You are truly in for a treat!  *smile*

I'm going to keep this short and sweet to keep the train moving steadily and, hopefully, smoothly down The Blog Train track!  LOL!

Here is a preview of my contribution.  It's called *A New Start*.  I had a bit of difficulty in coming up with a name, but after coming across my sister-in-law Corinne's photo, things began to fall into place when I saw her always fresh smile and the reason why she rooms with us part-time!

As always, I look forward to your feedback!  You will find my download link now gives you access to all zip files in one file location so I only need post one link here for you!  *Yay*   I have a little add-on that I will post once the traffic has tapered off a wee bit so as to avoid any confusion.  Uhm, yup, that would mostly be on my part! *wink*

Your next and final stop is at Mommyish

Please, please try your best to leave a little thank you for the designers you download from.  I understand you have lots of stops to make and I'd just like to remind y'all that each designer spends quite a bit of time creating her contribution, then sorting and packing it all up, uploading it and then creating a blog post and testing links.  It surely does each one of those 100 hearts good to read a thank you from y'all!

Just in case you jump the track and/or need to return to the complete list of participating blogs, here is The Blog Train Blog!  While you are there, leave Trish a little thank you too for heading up this faithfully departing bi-monthly train!  MWAH!  Y'all rock ... and then some!  Oh, and if you are new to hopping aboard the blog train and find some blogs not hooked up yet, please give them a little time as there are huge differences in some of our time zones across the globe.  Also, for anyone who possibly has any difficulty downloading; i.e, incomplete downloads or not wanting to download for you at all, give it about 24 hours.  I like to compare blog trains to commute hour traffic on the freeway!  LOL!  Sometimes there are just too many people attempting to download a link at once!  Hope this helps y'all a bit.

See you soon and remember:  It is scrap-happy hour 24/7 in Scrapland y'all!  *big smile*

Sorry, this link has expired

Happy Friday y'all!

Sorry it's taken me so long to return, but with summer in full force, it's been C-R-A-Z-Y!!!

Summer actually arrived right on time here in Copperopolis this year.  Uh, huh, we started the first day of summer dipping into triple-digit temps!  Nothing new for us and I'm not complaining as we had more rainy days this year than we've had in some time and I love the cooler weather!  Is my age showing?  *wink*

I have been playing in Photoshop and even though I have Photoshop and Illustrator classes coming up, I still like teaching myself, which is usually the way I learn most things.  Thus the reason it takes me longer to appear here with the goods!  ROFL!

Before I show you what I have to share with you today, I have a very special announcement to make.  Yes, I'm sure you have a good idea already from my blog post image above!  I am so proud to announce that we have another little monkey on it's way! *heart flutters*

While I have never been a partial person, nor have I ever loved one child or grandchild more than another, I wouldn't be honest in not telling you that my oldest daughter, April becoming pregnant is definitely an extra special miracle in the making.  How so?  Well, it goes something like this ... my grandmother (on my father's side), my mother and myself have all been very prolific in regard to bearing children.  Between the three of us, we have delivered 8, 7 and 6 children respectively.   My children's grandmother on their father's side delivered 8 children!  Did I mention that we were prolific?  *eyes open wide*

April, my firstborn, was born with a nurturing spirit.  She has been a little mother ever since I can remember and she helped me in raising my youngest, her twin brothers, Luke and John!  In fact, she once commented that she felt the boys to be more like her own children than her brothers!  That says a whole lot right there, eh?

April is currently 34 years of age and has tried on-and-off to get pregnant over the years, but it just was not happening.  Some years ago, she was diagnosed with PCOS, which carries with it multiple symptoms, one being the inability to ovulate.  Nuff said!  With a little help from a miracle drug my son-in-law, Ethan and my daughter, April are pregnant with their first child!  *squeeeeeeeeeeeeee*  And, they are only having one baby!  I figured with twins running on my side of the family, plus the Chlomid, twins were a good possibility!  The kids are most happy with one!  *smile*

The photo showcased in my little monkey's arms was emailed to me the day before yesterday after a visit to the doctor.  Baby Buckmier is 9 weeks, 5 days in gestation, between the size of a grape and a cumquat and April was able to see his/her itty-bitty arms and legs moving about in the womb!  Baby is upside-down and you can see the tip of the red glittered heart pointing the way!

April has decided to go ahead and tell everyone she is pregnant so I am able to make an official announcement today - YAY!  I actually found out some time ago at 5:30 in the morning when she had "peed on a stick", as they say, and it formed the word pregnant before her precious eyes and hubby was away on a hunting trip and didn't answer his phone!  LOL!   Woot for me.  I got to be the first one to hear the good news!  *wink*

To any of you reading that might be trying to get pregnant with a little extra help, I am sending positive thoughts and prayers your way!  I told April that I am only thinking good things just as I did when I found out I was carrying twins and every book I picked up informed me of the risk of this, that and the other thing.  I took all of those books back to the library and stood in faith that I was going to have healthy babies!  I carried Luke and John full-term and they weighed in at 6 lbs, 14 oz (same weight as April at birth:) and 6 lbs, 2 oz!

Okay, enough of my jabbering!  Boy, I can talk a good one can't I?  Y'all are real troopers to hang out with me this long.  I guess this is what happens when I go missing for a week or two at a time!  *grin*

So, I've been dabbling in brush making for a bit now and decided I wanted to make some cute little monkey scatters to go into the extras edition of *Monkeying Around* for y'all.  Well, one thing led to another and then another and voila, I created my very first brush set and guess what?  Y'all are going to get it!  I was so excited when the lovely, Trina Clark agreed to let me share the set with y'all since the cute little monkeys I have created were done so using some cutting files I purchased from Trina last month.

If you've never been to Trina's website and you adore country art work, clip art, stamps, borders and such, you are in for a treat!  I have just placed a banner at top of my blog for you to click on to check her out.  You will be there for a while, as she has hundreds of images.  Talk about one amazingly talented artist!  *head spinning*  I first became familiar with Trina's work when I got my start at 3Scrapateers six years ago and I, sadly, lost track of her.  I found her on Facebook a while back and finally paid her a visit when looking for monkeys!  A treasure chest of goodness to behold and her terms of use are insanely generous, not to mention her prices!

*Monkeying Around* brush set includes an ABR file with dual versions of five brushes and individual PNG files for those unable to use ABR files.  As the image above shows, each brush offers both a single shape tip preset and shape dynamics and scattering presets, which are fabulous for some easy scatter creating on your canvas.  Naturally, you are able to play and adjust the settings to your liking if you wish!  TOU for the brushes is the same as for all of the other files.  You may use them for personal-use, scrap-for-hire and scrap-for-other.  Please read TOU for specifics!  I've also included instructions for saving and loading them into Photoshop.

And here is *Monkeying Around*, Extras Edition!   I have included each scatter layer separately so that you can mix-and-match them as you prefer.  I've even included a grayscale distressed version of each scatter layer, none of which are shown, for easy coloring.  Oh, I nearly forgot to mention that you are seeing the same monkey I included in the first download via The June Blog Train because I revised it!  *blush*

Wishing you all a spectacular summer filled with sweet scrapping memories and to my fellow Scraplanders on the opposite side of the equator, a wonderful winter of the same!

I love you <---- this ----> much!

Sky Drive has changed things up a bit since my last post and I've finally figured it all out.  I am not able to give you a separate link for each file, unless I create a file for each link and that is just a bit too time consuming.  The alternative is actually a win-win for all of us as I can now put all links into one folder and you are able to download as many or as few of the links as you wish to!

Click on the link you wish to download and a download window will open as before allowing you an instant download.  The fourth and final link is a download them all at once!

As always, I appreciate your feedback here in the comments sections on my blog!

Thank you and Bon Scrapatit!

"monkeying around" ... june blog train goodies are up! yay!

>> Wednesday, June 1, 2011

Happy 1st day of June y'all!

I am so, so sorry for being so late in getting my goodies posted for the June Blog Train, *Monkeying Around*!  I have been up for two days straight (no sleep, not even a cat nap), trying to get everything ready to upload.  ROFL!  Please don't ask (I'm sure you won't!), but it's just been one little thing after another.  My computer is being backed up and I had maxed out my RAM so it was painstakingly slow in getting all the files finalized, together, TOU prepped, etc.

I was supposed to remove *The Wild Ones* yesterday, however, due to my tardiness, I am going to leave it up until tomorrow (preview and link can be found on my sidebar to your right) in the event there is anyone who still wishes to download it.  Those of you who have already downloaded and left me feedback, a thank you or some love, thank you so much!  Appreciated more than you can know ... or, perhaps, you do know!

Before I post the pertinent info for the blog train, I just have to tell you before I forget!  Today is my fourth anniversary as a digital scrapbooking designer!  Woot, woot ... yeah!  It is difficult to believe that I have been blogging  and giving away goodies for almost four years!  My blogoversary is near the end of August and I hope to hoop it up real good with y'all this year!

Okies, without further ado my wonderful and patient friends, here's the official blog train scoop!

You should be arriving here from:

Angel Hartline Designs (unless you've popped back over to see if I've posted yet! *smile*)

In checking Angel's link, she still has not posted so make sure to head back over in a day or two.

You are now at Bon Scrapatit Designs and your next stop on this fun and exciting train ride is:

Chocolate Geranium Digital Designs (this still sounds delicious as I'm a bit behind on eating as well!)

Linnie has posted!

Please take a moment to say, "thank you" to all of the amazing designers who have contributed to this month's blog train.  Everyone works hard to make this happen, especially our fabulous conductor, Trish Heffner.  You can give her a heartfelt thank you right here on the Blog Train Blog, which is also where you will find all 90+ links of the contributing designers starting with hers!

Once again, I thank you for your patience is awaiting my post.  Y'all rock ... and then some!

Here is my preview: (I didn't have a chance to add my customary grunge splats/splatters.  I will be posting a little add-on to this in the next day or two.  I also have some more word art to go along with it too!  Believe this or not, I am not really a theme designer and I continue these trains because the color palettes and themes keep me challenged!  For that I thank Trish immensely as she continues to dedicate herself to keeping this train on the track, even though a few of us have attempted to derail it from time-to-time.  Sorry Trish, if you happen by, I promise I was not *Monkeying Around*, but I'll be a monkey's uncle (like that could really every happen, eh?  he, he ...) if technology did not start monkeying around with me a few days ago, causing some unexpected monkey business to happen this side of the screen!  I honestly cannot say that it was more fun than a barrel of monkeys having a monkey wrench thrown into the mix and then having a monkey on my back when trying to follow a schedule and catch a train on time!  LOL!  Gee, you don't suppose I've actually learned a thing or two in the process of preparing for this train, do you?  *grin*

Enough of my rambling.  Y'all could probably give a monkey's! *wink*

MWAH!  Have fun ...

Uploading my freebies to Sky Drive is giving you a direct download and no more frustration in waiting for 4-shared.  In doing so, I no longer have any way to track how many downloads I receive, which helps me to know what you like and what you don't!  I simply ask that you leave a quick thank you either in the comments section here on my blog (not the one on Sky Drive!) or in the chat box as a form of feedback.

Thank you and Bon Scrapatit!

Happy belated spring (to those this side of the equator!), Mother's Day and {inter} National Scrapbooking Day y'all!

I so totally feel for the mail carriers of old! Braving the elements. Rain, sleet, snow, etc. ROFL!

I cannot even begin to tell you my many encounters (or shall I continue to refer to the word - O.B.S.T.A.C.L.E.?) I've had on my journey from Photoshop to Sky Drive and leading to my final destination here on Blogger. Bon Scrapatit Designs to be specific! *smile*

I have to laugh y'all. Otherwise, I would lay me down and have a good cry! *wink*

I was almost here yesterday, however, Blogger wasn't having it! Who'd of thunk it? Distractions of all sorts. Phone calls. Visitors. Meal prep. Housecleaning. Animal care. You know, the usual. But ... who would have ever imagined that I would finally be ready to post to Blogger and I would not be allowed to? ROFL! I mean, is this for real? LOL! It was indeed! I could not even sign into my account!

Everything for a reason.

I hope y'all know me well enough to know that I really don't take these kinds of things seriously. Just having a little fun with it. I am too quickly reminded of the serious nature of things that others are enduring while I remain in the comfort of my own home today.

My heart, my thoughts and my prayers are with those in Joplin, Missouri. I had not even heard about this particular tornado until Tuesday. I had been on the phone with an older brother this past Sunday. He was concerned about our sister living in a suburb of Minneapolis, which sustained a tornado an hour prior to his calling me.

When hearing talk of the big tornado that hit, I was thinking Minneapolis. I don't watch much television and prefer to work in quiet, so the devastation taking place in Joplin did not surface for me right away. I had turned on the television early Tuesday morning to hear about Joplin and to find out that it was the worst on record since 1953.  That was just the year prior to my entrance into the world.  That is a lot of years ago!  Horrific nonetheless.

Well, you all have waited patiently for *The Wild Ones* to get here and for that I thank you!  Every spring, I look forward to the wildflowers and lush green landscape to arrive here in Copperopolis.

Summers are typically very hot, with a good portion of the season producing triple digit temps, so I relish basking in the cooler temps of spring for as soon as the weather heats up, everything turns brown ... uhm, oops, I mean gold ... here in the foothills of Northern California!  Nothing against gold, but honestly, it is just not as aesthetically pleasing to these older eyes as are the many shades of green after lots of rain!  My eyes love to spy all of the tiny purple and yellow blossoms making their way up through the tall green grasses.  Hence, my inspiration for *The Wild Ones*!  *squee*

Here are a few detailed images of *The Wild Ones* at 100%:

Happy downloading and I would love to see some layouts in the Bon Scrapatit Designs Flickr Pool!  Pretty please!

were you born to be wild? my take on what that means and a freebie for you too!

>> Sunday, May 15, 2011

My precious granddaughter, Katelyn Rose, who is ten months old today!  I miss her so much and am over the moon when her mommy sends me photos and video clips which surely helps this Grandma's need for a baby girl fix at least once per week!  Thank you my darling daughter for finding some snippets of time to jump start my heart each week!  I love you!

Frame cluster created using *The Wild Ones* by Bon Scrapatit Designs

Hi y'all!  Can you believe the month of May is half way over already?  I can't!  Sheesh, we just celebrated {i}NSD and boom, here we are one week later!  *sigh*

To stick with the subject of my post, "were you born to be wild"?  LOL!  Uhm, I suppose that is all in how each of us looks at the definition of wild, eh?

For example, this has been one wild week for me in that as hard as I have tried to finish up *The Wild Ones* to upload for you, it simply has not happened ... yet!  My definition of wild here would be something like, crazy!  Uh, huh, you know what I'm talking about!

Monday was my oldest sibling's 70th birthday!  Tuesday, I spent several hours on the phone with my precious Mama and helped her with a few things that were important to take care of.  Wednesday, Blogger was down and that simply threw me for a loop!  It obviously doesn't take much to throw me, does it?  LOL!  Thursday, Photoshop informed me that all of my scratch disks were full and I could not do a thing until I figured out how to get my preview to open allowing me to continue creating!  This totally threw me for the proverbial loop for in my five plus years of Photoshoppin', this was the first time I'd ever seen such a notice!  So thankful for that right there.  Just sayin'.

I also had a nice surprise visit from son #2, who had spent the night Wednesday to go golfing with son #1 and son #3 (son #4 had to work!) and upon dropping off his brothers later that evening, I got to visit with my darling grandson, Jace, for about an hour!  Hmm ... now Friday, I am not even remembering Friday, but I do think I did Friday despite my lack of recollection!  *smile*

ROFL!  OMGosh y'all, I am rolling over here!  Apparently, Friday is not the only day I am clueless about.  I just realized, and without having to retype or move things around will fess up, that I mixed up Wednesday with Thursday and vice-versa!  So, there you have it, my scatteredness in a nutshell!  *oops*

Then comes the weekend and my real desire to get 'er done!  Last night, I lost my focus (gee, wonder how that happened:) and decided to throw a couple of embellishments on a piece of paper to see how things were looking and I ended up scrapping a layout of my precious little Katelyn Rose who, just like her mommy, was indeed born to be wild!  And how do I define wild when it comes to my darling baby girl?  I will show you in the bit of a sneak-peek of *The Wild Ones* below!

As the cancellation stamp word art declares, wild means "intensely enthusiastic about or preoccupied with"!
I think that perfectly sums up my daughter and granddaughter both :)

Y'all know by now that when I scrap, that usually means I share!  Here is my layout of Miss Katelyn Rose.  Although she is ten months old today, I believe this is a photo Joan sent to me a few weeks ago.  Can I say, "be still my heart"!  I just love this baby girl to pieces and miss her oodles and bunches!

Layout created using *The Wild Ones* by Bon Scrapatit Designs and coming your way soon!

Naturally, my layouts are turned into scrapatits to share even further, so here is what you will receive in your free download today!  I had fun with brushes again! *grin*

I hope you will accept today's goody as a bit of a peace offering for my wild week that interrupted my designing mojo and I hope to have things finished up just as quickly as possible.  No mention of a time frame this time around lest another O.B.S.T.A.C.L.E. prove me otherwise!  *wink*

Wishing you all one incredibly fabulous week.  May it be a productive one and may it find you filled with much scrap happiness!  *mwah*

{inter} National Scrapbooking Day is here in full force!  I hope everyone is successfully tackling their wishlists, scrapping madly and enjoying the numerous contests happening all over Scrapland this weekend!  And to think, we have Mother's Day to celebrate too!  *smile*

This is a quick post to leave you with a few extra goodies that I made mention of last post!
Today's download includes a Mother's Day embossed scrapatit in two variations.  One plain.  One embellished, as seen in the layout I shared with the lovely flowers I've received this past week from my sweet man!  I have also included two bonus embossed papers.  One includes glittered accents in the middle of the flowers that I shared as an idea in the brief instructions included with the *Positively Embossable* overlays.

Have fun y'all!  If you feel inclined to do so, please share some of your favorite finds and experiences from {i}NSD as I shall be busy packaging kits and finishing up the free scrapkit I plan to post for you later tomorrow.  No shopping for me this year!  *sigh*  (if you find something that you just know I'd love and can't live without, please give me a shout! lol!)

If, for some reason, I am not able to get your special gift uploaded before tomorrow evening, I shall post it on Mother's Day!  I am simply wild about the colors and the inspiration from whence it has come!

I will stop in later tonight to catch up with you and reply to your generous and lovely comments.  Thank you so much!

Happy, happy!  XX

Merrily, merrily, it is the month of May!  Where, oh where has the year gone to already?  Here, there and everywhere!  *wink*

So much to keep up with and just in the first week of May alone!  Here in the USA, we have May Day on the first, Cinco de Mayo on the fifth, {i}NSD on the sixth and this year, Mother's Day on the eighth!  Wowsers!  Not to mention that we have a few birthdays sandwiched inbetween as well!  ROFL!  No rest for the weary, eh?  Or should that read, the creative?  He, he ...

As you can see from my last post, May 1st, I have won the battle against my brain and have made it here today to bring you a little something I've been working on the past couple of days.  I had intended to create a little mini-kit and decided to go with offering up a few commercial-use friendly embossed overlays in the midst of my inspired layout creation!  We can all thank Robert for that as he has gifted me with flowers several times this past week and ... well, naturally I just had to scrap them! *smile*

My darling Robert has finally realized that my desire for potted plants versus freshly cut flowers is beneficial to him as well as to me.
I would much rather have beautiful flowers to plant outdoors for us both to enjoy for a long time as opposed to cuttings indoors
that will only last for a week or so.  Not only that, but my sweet man loves to tend to the park area he has created and I cannot think of
a better place to be putting flowers!  Spring weather has finally arrived and we enjoy sitting outdoors getting some much needed fresh air
and beholding the beauty of our surroundings here in Copperopolis, California!
Layout created using my first collection of *Positively Embossable* overlays available for free until noon Monday, May 9th here at
Bon Scrapatit Designs.  Doodle Brushes are by HG Designs, Flowers by Miss Tiina and Button by Something Blue Studios.

Before I leave you with an early Mother's Day gift, I wish to share with you an, undoubtedly, once in a lifetime opportunity to purchase either an extended membership (if you already have one) or a new membership to an amazing collection of photographer's and designer's tools at ActionFX!

ActionFX is owned and operated by Al Ward, who has not only presented us with a fabulous array of photo actions, brushes, custom shapes, styles and fabulous video tutorials over the past 12+ years, but is also an NAAP certified Photoshop expert and author of several books on Photoshop (check him out at Amazon!) and has even co-authored with the likes of Colin Smith and Scott Kelby!

Al is in the process of putting the finishing touches on his brand new website and is offering a one-year new membership (gives you access to all downloads available now and to come during your membership) for the unbelievable price of $24.95 and if you are already a member and for some reason have not received this news yet, a one-year extended membership for only $16.95!  This simply cannot be beat for all that Al has to offer!  Once Al's new website goes live, the price of a one-year membership will be $199, six months for $124.95 or one month for $29.95.

Let me make mention that ActionFX is not just for photographers or designers, but also for digital scrapbookers, web designers, etc.  With the new site in place, Al will be offering over 500,000 Photoshop and Elements presets and tools, etc.  "This will affect photographers, digital scrappers, Elements users, web designers ... the works!"

If you are an avid Photoshop user, whether it be PSCS or Elements, you simply cannot go wrong with a $25 investment to the access of so much creative goodness.  I can very easily spend that alone on CU and/or digital scrapbooking purchases at a single digital scrapbooking site in one day!  A membership to ActionFX will last you for an entire year.  Better yet, you can even sign up for an additional year or two, or ... *grin*

Check out the current ActionFX site HERE

Click HERE to be taken directly to membership sign up page and grab a one-year all access membership while it's hot, hot, HOT!

In the event you need to give some thought to purchasing a membership, I have posted an ActionFX banner at the very top of my blog for convenience if you wish to come back at a later time.  I know that the special price will remain in place through this weekend, but not sure beyond that at this time.  I will keep you updated as I receive them and will also post a reminder before the weekend is over.

Thank you for reading me today and for all of the sweet and lovely comments you've left in my absence. *sigh*  Y'all surely do know how to make a girl feel better quickly!  LOL! I am pretty sure that I've caught up with each one of them!

Without further ado, Happy early Mother's Day ladies!  I have a few extra goodies for you come Friday and am hoping to finish a kit I've been working on for you for {i}NSD this Saturday!  *squee*

Happy Monday y'all!

Phew!  I knew the word art portion of my contribution to the April blog train had great significance to me and I was also hoping it would be equally meaningful to most of you as well!

After finding a photo for my blog train preview of our grandson, Jace, taken from Halloween last year, I looked at both Jace and his mommy and the lyric from Norah Jone's smooth jazz recording, Chasing Pirates, popped into my head immediately!  The meaningfulness of this lyric hit me even harder this past week when my older brother, Albert came to visit for the first time in six years and the two of us drove up the hill to celebrate with Jace on his third birthday last Thursday.  This was my brother's first time to meet his grandnephew!

I sat admiring my precious grandson, balloons in hand, as he literally ran in circles in the living room as most any active little boy would be prone to doing!  Jace was donning a cute pirate t-shirt to which I remarked, "I really like your pirate shirt Jace!"  Without hesitation and still tracing circles with his tiny feet, Jace exclaimed, "I like it too!" *sigh*  Be still my grandmother's heart.  He is growing up so very quickly and speaking like a little adult.  When asked about his bulldozer, he was quick to point out that it was not simply a bulldozer, but that it is an excavator!  Oh my.  It was not so very long ago that I was cradling him in my arms and welcoming him into the world!

Robert and I often glance at each other, while visiting our children and grandchildren, with a faint look of exhaustion as we remind each other of why it is we believe that we had our children when we were younger.  Much younger.  LOL!  When mentioning this 50-year-old plus revelation to my daughter-in-law, Jessica, she agreed and tossed into the mix of the conversation the same reasoning for a young child's naptime!  *smile*

I have a very good feeling that our grandchildren shall keep us both mentally and physically challenged as time goes on ... and that my friends is a good thing!

I've been away from the computer for a week now, with the exception of an hour or two on Friday, and while I've not spent all of that time chasing pirates, I have had the pleasure of a visit from my older brother for the first time since 2004.  Albert (our father's namesake) is one of my two older brothers with whom I was not raised, have seen face-to-face less times then I can count on both hands and who lost his wife of 40 years to breast cancer June of last year.

After a lovely five days of catching up with my brother, including visits with three of my sons and extended family, I took an evening off (last night) to relax, reminisce and rejuvenate with Robert and my sister-in-law, Corinne.  I found my way back to the computer after our dinner earlier this evening to finish a layout I had started Friday night and thought I would share it with y'all and, of course, make it into a scrapatit for you to add to your collection of *Pirates Not Allowed* goodies from this month's blog train!  Are your hard drives full yet? *wink*

Our grandson, Jace, celebrating his third birthday on April 7th.  This Grandma's mind was surely racing from chasing her
darling little pirate with the camera on this wondrous day of celebration! LOL!

I shall be back to prepping kits to upload to my shop at MyMemories this week and I am also working on some new designs for another little bit of news in the making! *cat's got my tongue*

Hope to find everyone enjoying life's precious moments and scrapping each and every one of them to your heart's content!

Robert and his sister, Corinne, enjoying the surf at Ocean Beach in San Francisco, California.
I was using my little Canon Point 'n Shoot on manual and even though the photos were fairly grainy,
I captured a few interesting pieces of scenery!  This shot is cropped from it's original showing the
sunset over the Pacific Ocean, however, I really wanted to focus on the reflection of the sunset on
the sand between Robert and Corinne.  Pretty cool glow going on there, don't you think? :)

Well, the weather forecasters were indeed correct in that the severe storm did pass us by yesterday and we actually enjoyed a sunny, cool day for the most part!  However, the weather forecasters did not, unfortunately, predict the storm of distraction that would be taking place in my house yesterday!  ROFL!

Just one of those days where everybody wishes a piece of your time for one thing or the other and, of course, I'm still not very good at saying, "no, not now" or "can you call me back on this tomorrow"!  LOL!

Sunday through Tuesday afternoon is also the time that Robert's sister, Corinne is here so I usually find myself lost in conversation with the two of them until she is on her way back down the hill!  Time well-spent I might add.  It is a good and healthy distraction for all of us!

Okay, on to my official announcement!  Most of you following along with me for the past four plus years know that I've not sold my designs for nearly two years now.  I am so very excited to have been asked to design for MyMemories.com and to be in the company of some of the best digital designers in the industry, all at an award-winning site!

MyMemories Digital Scrapbooking has been creating digital scrapbooking products for over five (5) years, including the award-winning, MyMemories Suite software (#1 scrapbooking software on TopTenReviews.com and Amazon.com).  MyMemories also provides digital scrapbooking kits from some of the finest and most creative designers and I am most honored to be counted among them!

I am in the process of continuing to update (this includes new and improved recipes) and repackage some of the scrapkits that I've posted here on my blog previously so that I actually have some product in my store, however, just as soon as I've completed the updates and repackaging, I shall be working on new designs and I am very excited about that!  And, of course, I shall continue to bring y'all goodies for the downloading, as it truly is my passion to help memory preservationists across the globe to keep filling those scrapbook albums! *big smile*

For those of you who have collected most, or all, of the kits that I will be adding to my store at MyMemories.com, I would be thrilled if you would take a few minutes to click on those you have enjoyed using and give it a star rating, "Like" it on Facebook, "Tweet" it or share it in any other way you wish to and this can all be done right from the page you find the scrapkit on at MyMemories.com!

I shall be most grateful for your continued support by sharing those you think worthy of sharing and I don't believe that you have to be registered or logged in to do so. Thank you, thank you!

For those of you who are new to Bon Scrapatit Designs, I will share a few images from one of the two scrapkits I have already had uploaded to my new store.  *Shower of Flowers* is currently on sale at 30% off and I believe that will end tomorrow or Friday.  If you are ready for some hot, spring scrapping, grab it while it's on sale!

*Showers of Flowers* is filled with warm, spring colors (great for summer too!), flowers of a different variety and, naturally, you will find lots of glitter and jewels as well as a complete glittery *Floral Acrylic Alpha*! *smile*

Full Scrapkit includes a complete Floral Alpha!

Sample of Textured Background Papers

*Floral Acrylic Alpha* included in scrapkit contains Uppercase, Lowercase, Numbers and some Symbols

I look forward to you shopping with me at MyMemories.com and now that little something for y'all to preserve your memories with!  Here is a coordinating frame cluster that will hold four of your precious photos or, as I have shown, one lovely panoramic view!

I'm off to reply to your comments from my last post and then to batten down the hatches ... he, he ... make that closely supervise the sights and sounds outside as we experience yet another severe storm.  This one is bringing flood warnings to many areas, high winds and possibly more thunder and lightning for the next few days.  I'm on as long as there is none of the latter!  *wink*

I have more exciting news to share soon, so stay-tuned!  The beginning of April approaches us quickly and that means (no fooling!) another blog train from The Blog Train Blog prepares to make it's way through Scrapland on April 1st!  Hint: No Pirates Allowed! ARGH! This train always carries goodies from approximately 100 talented designers!  *grin* It's a wonderful way to plump up your digiscrapping stash (make sure you give your hard drives a heads up - LOL!) and sample designs from new designers or those you are not yet familiar with.
